What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Numerical license plates I spotted on the drive down and back:

LOWN WLF
2CAPTS
3 TIBET
LVIS4ME

I spotted three of them within a half hour, which kind of tickled me.

Going on a road trip with two little ones was something else. We left later than I wanted, but that was OK, it was only a little bit later, we'd still make it down there by a reasonable time. Of course, we had to stop to pick up a package of diapers first, since we were pretty low. Then everyone had to eat, because we didn't spend time on breakfast at home. Then the toddler spilled her orange juice and we had to pull over, mop up, and clean her up. Back on the road, except the baby started crying, because of course breakfast from McDonald's meant breakfast for me and the toddler. So, pull over to nurse the baby. Take the opportunity to give the toddler some cranberry juice in a spill-proof cup. Get going again. Another spill. Pull over and change the toddler again. Wonder if I'm going to run out of the clean clothes I packed for her before we even get there. Pull over at a gas station to buy Tylenol, because for some strange reason my head is starting to hurt. Back on the road, the cell phone rings. It's the husband. How am I doing? I check the trip odometer. We've gone 90 miles in 3 hours.

Things sped up after that. They had to or I'd still be trying to get down there! Got the stuff, got back up here (the husband flew down to drive the truck back.) Got cable hook-up the day after we got back. Hooray! So everything is going very well and life is settling down finally. Expect to see more of me, here and in comments everywhere.

You should see the smile on my face right now. It's so good to be back!
