Useful Food and Cleaning Tip
I learned something recently that I'm rather excited about. Evidently if you take two spray bottles, one filled with hydrogen peroxide and one with vinegar, you can get an antibacterial agent that's better than bleach for killing nasty stuff.
What you do is spray the surface you want disinfected with first one, then other. The order doesn't matter. This is great for food especially, as it works exceptionally well for killing things like salmonella and e. coli. In fact, that's what the scientist who discovered this was looking at - ways to easily disinfect produce.
Since I tend to get a little twitchy at the thought of bacteria in my kitchen I'll soon be heading out to pick up a couple of spray bottles. Vinegar and peroxide I already have.
