A friend once told me, she cobbled an emergency diaper together from tape, a grocery bag, and restroom paper towels.

I needed diapers and cat food yesterday, so off I went to the store, girls in tow. We had a successful shopping trip. Caught some good sales, stopped by a local nursery and picked up some tomato plants, picked up a nice big pot at the dollar store to plant them in, and headed home before it was too late for naptime.

Except that I forgot to buy diapers and cat food.

I have one diaper left. The husband doesn't leave for work for at least another half hour. His car is parked behind my car in our one-car-garage driveway. The toddler needs to be changed. Then I will have no diapers left.

Hopefully we will not have any diaper emergencies in the next hour.

I really wish I'd remembered at least the diapers yesterday.
