I wrote a fan letter today to the author of a book I've enjoyed for several years now. I ran across her email address online and thought I'd drop her a line letting her know how much I've enjoyed the book and inspiring I found it during a couple of difficult times in my life.
She wrote back, which I thought was very nice of her. It turns out my letter arrived at a time in her life which has been very difficult. So it was nice to have someone write and tell her they enjoy her work.
Isn't it nice how easy it is to make another person feel good just by thanking them? I need to remember to do things like that more often.
That being said, those of you whose blogs I read? I read them because I enjoy them. And even though I'm not as good as I should be about commenting, I do want all of you to know that I'm glad you take the time to share your thoughts and observations with the rest of us. It's nice to be able to go somewhere to read something funny, thoughtful, inspiring, challenging, etc. I really value the time I spend with you, so to speak, reading what you've written. And yes, that means you. If I've ever linked to you, commented on your blog, dropped you a line - then I'm talking about you. I make time to read you all several times a wekk and go back to catch up if I've fallen behind. You make my day better. Thank you.
