Wow. You spend two weeks not blogging and all of a sudden you're out of the habit! Have I really not posted since Monday?
Of course, part of that is because Michael called home from school Tuesday morning, sick. Watch Jennifer panic! He's been home ever since. I took him to the doctor, who said it was too early to tell if it was mono and not to worry. Just treat it like any other virus and if it is mono he should be back in school in a couple of weeks. Although he did offer to give us a prescription for penicillin if I wanted it for peace of mind.
What?
There's no question Michael has a virus of some kind. The only question I have is if it's mono. I can't believe he offered us an antibiotic prescription! Has the man never heard of resistant bacteria? I suddenly have much less confidence in our doctor.
We've been decorating for Christmas. A little here, a little there. The girls have been helping, much to their delight. We have cut out snowflakes (well, OK, Mommy cut out the snowflakes while the girls watched and then they picked out where in their room they wanted the snowflakes taped,) and we tried making paper chains, but it's way beyond even Arielle's abilities. I don't really have the patience for it anymore, so no paper chains this year! But we are playing around with making stained glass decorations for the windows on either side of the front door, using this plastic-y paint stuff I found at Walmart, my only local source of crafting supplies. The "NOEL" I did looks pretty awful, but I think I'm getting the hang of it and the girls seems to think it's pretty neat.
We're having lots of fun and the girls are getting very excited about Christmas. They're going to get to see Santa at our church Christmas party this weekend. Hopefully, this year, Arielle won't be scared of him. Hopefully Gabrielle won't be either!
