More Christmas stuff

Well, now that I have adjusted and the MW world is not coming to an end after all, I suppose I should get back to my regularly scheduled blogging.

Good news on the carpal tunnel front! We got a new chair, an investment in our future as I see it. It's much better than our old computer chair and I can tell the difference already in the way my hands feel after I've been typing. Of course, now I have to start looking for paying writing opportunities to pay for it!

We had our church Christmas party this weekend and both the girls got to sit on Santa's lap. It was terribly exciting for them, especially since they got a little bag of candy from him, too! Arielle waited in line like the kids were supposed to, but Gabrielle (who hadn't been interested at first) got all curious after Arielle talked with Santa. So she decided to just climb up into Santa's lap, regardless of the child already there. I was trying to drag her away, but when he finished with the little boy he motioned to let Gabrielle up. She thought it was wonderful and wasn't afraid at all. This is the first year Arielle hasn't been afraid of Santa.

We put our tree up yesterday. A pretty fun thing to see through the girls' eyes. It's just all magic to them. I'd forgotten how wonderful Christmas was when I was little. I remember sitting on my grandmother's couch, looking at the lights on the tree. My grandparents had a tree stand that revolved and played Christmas carols. It wasn't the most stable setup, so they wouldn't turn in on very often, but, oh, when they did! I could have just sat there and stared at it, turning and singing, for what seemed like hours (and was probably only 10 minutes.)

Michael is all better and back at school. His friends are all better now, too, and it has been confirmed that at least one of them did not have mono. So they passed some illness amongst themselves, but it wasn't as bad as it could be. He has been lectured about not sharing soda bottles anymore, but somehow I don't think he'll listen. I bet he'll have forgotten about the whole thing by the end of the week.
