Cute Things

The preschooler says han-gaber, instead of hamburger. She lisps just the littlest teeniest bit when she says her S's, which the husbands predicts will have little boys eating out of her hands in no time at all. She will come up to me and proclaim the obvious in tones of complete surprise, questioning the reality of her senses. "Mommy, you're big! I'm little!" And when I tell her she's a good girl, she looks surprised and pleased and answers, "Yes, I am. I'm a good girl!"

The baby has created a new game in which she holds a toy and makes kissing noises as she shoves it into Mommy's face. Mommy is then expected to kiss the toy, and then it kisses Mommy back, on and on. She will hold books and look at them seriously, gabbling quickly as she turns the pages. At church, she watches the chorister very closely and will wave her arm around as she sings. In fact, she seems to think that waving your arm around is an essential part of singing. When she gets excited she stomps her feet rapidly until she falls over. It reminds me of a scene from Flashdance, except for the losing of the balance.
