Gabrielle has decided to train herself. She pulled a mutiny Friday, refusing to wear diapers and insisting on wearing the pullups Arielle uses at night. Then she insisted on being put on the toilet, where she immediately urinated.
Since then, the only time she's needed to be changed is when there's been an accident (where she couldn't make it to the bathroom in time) and in the morning.
I am absolutely flabbergasted. She's been asking for quite some time to use the toilet, and I've been telling her, "No, you're still too little, sweetie." I didn't want to repeat our experiences with Arielle. I wasn't planning on even thinking about starting training Gabrielle for another month!
I still have to keep an eye an Arielle, or she'll put on pullups to avoid using the bathroom. In fact, we've got a bribe going right now to try to keep her from holding everything in until her nighttime pullups get put on her. (She'll go to bed and pop out five minutes later asking to be changed.) And even the promise of a new Dora toy hasn't been enough to convince her that staying dry at night is worth it. In contrast, I'm honestly thinking that Gabrielle will be completely daytime trained by the end of this week.
Verification, once again, that no two kids are alike. Which I am profoundly grateful for, in this instance.
