I feel rather smug about gift-giving this year. Even with banging up my knee, I've had my shopping done for the last week.
Of course, I can't pat myself too firmly on the back. This is the first year I won't be in a store on Christmas Eve! Which is such a huge relief. Tomorrow, I'm going to take the girls and let them "help" with wrapping presents. We'll put them under the tree Saturday, I think, to minimize temptation and then, yay! Sunday morning we'll get to open them!
The best part of Sunday will be having church on Christmas. My church doesn't do any special meetings on Christmas Day, so this is a very unusual thing for us. We'll just be having a shortened service, mostly a presentation by the choir, I understand. And I'll get to sit with my husband for once! We don't ever get to sit together, since he's usually up at the front, due to the nature of the volunteer position he was asked to serve in.
And, hopefully, after that we will have a nice peaceful day, or at least one in which the children don't fight too much amongst themselves!
